Who We Are

Women in Philanthropy (WIP) is led by a fourteen member Board of Directors that meets up to nine times a year. Recommendations from eight (8) committees are presented to the Board for consideration in matters of membership, grants, finance, education, governance, communications, events, and nominating.

Much was accomplished during our inaugural year. Membership and operational guidelines were established as well as a grant application process with guidelines and evaluation tools. The 2009 Spring Annual Meeting brought excitement with the announcement and awarding of our inaugural grants. Members voted by mailed ballots for three grants totaling $60,000 to projects focused on the unmet needs of women and children. We are pleased that membership has grown and grant funding increased each year.

Women in Philanthropy has awarded $1,846,798 in grants since 2009.

While many worthwhile philanthropic organizations have experienced a decline in membership and giving, members of Women in Philanthropy continue their commitment to the CSRA through leadership, charity, and advocacy.

“Now the CSRA has a women’s philanthropy group committed to improving the lives of women and children in our community. It has been heartwarming to see so many women get involved in committees that helped form Women in Philanthropy,” says Carolyn Maund, our co-founder.
